David Wagner, born in 1971, is a German author. His novel Vier Äpfel (2009, ‘Four Apples’) was long-listed for the German Book Prize. In 2013 he was awarded the Leipzig Book Fair Prize for his book Leben (‘Life’). In 2014 he received the Kranichstein Literary Prize and was made the first Friedrich Dürrenmatt Visiting Professor at the University of Berne. His books have been translated into seventeen languages. He lives in Berlin.
