Nurit Zarchi is an Israeli poet and author for adults and for children. Zarchi was born in Jerusalem and raised at Kibbutz Geva. Zarchi has published many poems in children’s magazines and over 100 children’s books, poetry, prose, and research. Zarchi has received major Israeli awards for authors for young readers, including the Bialik Prize (1999) and the Ze’ev Prize (four times). She has also received four IBBY Honor Citations and she was twice the winner of the Prime Minister’s Prize for her literary work.
