Laura Jean McKay is an Australian writer. She is the author of the collection Holiday in Cambodia, shortlisted for the 2014 New South Wales Premier’s Literary Awards, the 2014 Queensland Literary Award, and the Asher Award 2015. Laura’s writing has been published in The Best Australian Stories, in The Big Issue, Meanjin, Going Down Swinging, and The Lifted Brow. She is the winner of the Alan Marshall Short Story Award for 2011. She is a Ph.D. candidate in creative writing and animal studies at the University of Melbourne, and the recipient of an Asialink Literature Fellowship to Cambodia and a Marten Bequest Traveling Scholarship.
