Moshe Ron

Moshe Ron was Born 1945 in Tel Aviv. Graduated  1968 from Hebrew University of Jersusalem in Romance Languages and English Literature, then went on to get a Ph.D. in  Comparative Literature from Yale (1975). Taught English and Compartaive Literature at Hebrew U. before retiring in 2006. Concurrently became involved in the Hebrew publishing world as editor and translator, now serving as co-editor of Sifriya La’am for Am Oved. Has translated about 30 books from English, French and Spanish, mostly fiction, including collections of short stories by Donald Barthelme, Grace Paley, Raymond Carver, as well as several anthologies of short fiction, most notably Classic American Short Fiction. Author of one collection of short stories, Avedot Kalot (Light Losses; 2002).
