Born in Krefeld in 1969, Richard Kämmerlings is a German literary critic. From 2000 until 2010 he was editor of the literary pages of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Since 2010 he has been literary editor at the Welt am Sonntag, where he was in charge of the supplement ‘Literary World’. His book Das kurze Glück der Gegenwart. Deutschsprachige Literatur seit ’89 (‘The Brief Happiness of the Present: Literature in German since 1989’) was published in 2011.
