Hospitality as a Saudi tradition

Hospitality has and will always be in the core values of Saudi’s. The children of The Gulf are taught that welcoming guests is extremely important because interaction and communication is the initial step towards a long-lasting friendship and mutual respect, and what greater interaction between people than through food. Furthermore, food plays a major role in demonstrating your deep appreciation to your guests, it is very rare that someone would invite a guest without preparing a feast or Arabic coffee.

There are techniques for serving Arabic coffee that are pass from generation to generation; however,  the most important one is how to pour the Arabic coffee, so while pouring the coffee with your left hand filling third of the cup and serving the cup with your right hand remember to lean toward your guest, so they do not need to exert effort to take it. After doing so you serve your guest a plate of dates and desert then hand him a napkin.
