Ayfer Tunç (1964) is a Turkish author and screenwriter. She graduated from İstanbul University Faculty of Political Science and in 1989 started working as a journalist for highly circulated periodicals and dailies. Between 1999-2004 Tunç was the chief editor of Yapı Kredi Publishing House. In addition to novels and short stories, Tunç also writes essays, radio plays, and scripts for TV series. Her works have been translated into several languages and honored with the Yunus Nadi Short Story Prize. In 2003 she won the International Balkanika Literary Award.
