Sally Shivnan is an American author whose fiction and essays have appeared in The Georgia Review, Antioch Review, Glimmer Train, Rosebud, and other journals. Her short story collection Piranhas & Quicksand & Love was published in 2016 by Press 53; and her travel essays have been featured in The Washington Post, Miami Herald, Saturday Evening Post, and many other publications and websites. Her work has won a number of awards, including the 2011 Travel Classics International travel writing prize and a Maryland State Arts Council grant. Her bi-weekly “Prose and Poetry” radio program for blind listeners is available for streaming at the Radio Reading Network of Maryland.
